Privacy Policy

Overview

ChatView ("we", "our", or "the Service") helps you save, share, and export AI-generated content. This policy explains what information we process when you use our website, API, admin panel, and browser extension.

Information we collect

Content you submit: When you save content via the API or browser extension, we store the title, HTML or text body, metadata, and share settings you provide.

Usage analytics: For public share pages we record view counts. IP addresses are stored only as one-way hashes (HMAC) for deduplication, not as raw IPs.

Extension downloads: When you download the browser extension package, we log a hashed IP and user agent to display download statistics.

Admin access: Access to the admin panel is protected by credentials you configure on your deployment.

How we use information

We use collected data to render share pages, provide export features, show analytics to content owners, and operate the Service.

We do not sell personal information. Self-hosted deployments control their own database and logs.

Data retention

Saved content remains until you delete it from the admin panel or remove it via API.

View and download logs are retained for analytics unless you purge them from your database.

Security

API requests require a bearer token. HTML content is sanitized before public display. We recommend HTTPS, strong tokens, and restricted admin credentials in production.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may request access, correction, or deletion of content you control. Contact us using the details on the Contact page.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
